AMERICA'S BOATING SAFETY CLASS

Sunset Bay Mariner’s Club is hosting a safe boating class in coordination with the America’s Boating Club - Columbus
Become a Better Boater, Take an In-Person Boating Course
Taking a boating class reduces your risk of accidents and injuries, saves you money on boat insurance, and qualifies you for a state boat license or operator certificate in most states.
America’s Boating Course is the most comprehensive, single source, in-person boating course available to give you the skills you need to enjoy your time on the water and boat with confidence. Taught by certified instructors the class meets Ohio, Tennessee and most states’ certification requirements.
What You’ll Learn:
Tennessee State Boating Laws, regulations, boat registration, and licensing.
Required boating safety equipment
Do’s and Don’ts of boating safely
Practical Knowledge of navigation and rules of the road
How to handle medical emergencies onboard and mechanical problems on the water
The basics of towing and trailering
Anchoring techniques to stay in place
Knots to tie and using your lines
How to reduce your boat/PWC insurance rates
Register today at www.ColumbusSailAndPower.org under the education tab (America’s Boating Course). Bring the family and SAVE $$$. Mondays from 7-9pm ~ class dates: October 17, 24, 31, November 7. Test date: November 14.
Classes will be held in the Sunset Bay Clubhouse 195 Sunset View, Sharps Chapel, TN 37866
$65 for the 1st person, $10 each additional family member (sharing of materials)
NOTE: This class is required in order to legally operate any vessel with more than 8.5 hp motor in Tennessee if you were born after January 1, 1989.
